Benefits of a Remedial Massage at Om Shani

Relaxed State of Mind

Research has shown that massage helps lower levels of stress hormones while at the same time boosting those “feel good” neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins and conversely stress inducing hormones such as norepinephrine, adrenaline and cortisol are reduced.

Better Sleep

Regular remedial massage treatments reduce emotional and physical stress which improves sleep and creates a greater sense of general well-being.

Reduced Pain and symptoms

Remedial massage reduces muscle tension and releases knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia). This alleviates chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Improve Overall Health

In addition to benefiting muscle and tissue health, remedial massage positively affects your overall health by improving blood flow and decreasing blood pressure. Whether it is insomnia; headache; depression and anxiety; back pain; high blood pressure; or chronic pain - studies have shown that remedial massage provides positive benefits for many health disorders.

At your initial visit to OmShani, we will discuss any current issues you are experiencing regarding posture, restrictions in movement, and pain.  Your initial treatment will begin with a brief medical history and an individualised physical assessment (including functional and range of motion testing) to determine the best treatment to address your presenting problem.  At subsequent appointments I will assess any improvements and make any changes required to the treatment plan to maintain optimal movement and health.
